City of Blythe, GA is seeking applications for a Chief of Police. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the City Of Blythe Police Department.
Responsible for the protection and security of the City of Blythe.
Supervise police personnel and Police operations.
Investigate criminal complaints and incidents against persons and property.
Process crime scenes.
Make needed contact with defendant and complainants. Subdue violent, dangerous or disruptive persons and take appropriate action such as arresting.
Testify and make cases presentations in courts, and other venues as necessary.
Write reports, citations, daily activity logs, and related legal administrative reports, including City Council reporting.
Prepare monthly and annual reports required by the FBI, state of Georgia on Law Enforcement, and annual reports to the City.
Network with nearby municipal and county law enforcement agencies and prosecutor's offices within the service area.
Attend meetings and successfully complete training sessions to satisfy all police officer requirements.
Prepare and maintain department budget.
Responsible for the scheduling of police officers including special events.
Direct appropriate professional development for police officers.
Provide presence and maintain the peace at all city events.
Assist residences with problematic activity.
Develop ideas and recommend solutions related to citywide safety and security.
Report maintenance issues and hazardous conditions that appear throughout the city.
Complete daily, monthly. overtime, and special event logs and time and attendance records.
Maintain evidence and evidence logs.
Maintain dash cam videos and body cam videos and logs.
