Entry Level Testing

Morris & McDaniel is proud of their long-standing partnership with the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police and seeks to foster the high standards of law enforcement professionalism in the State of Georgia. As part of this effort, Morris & McDaniel offers a wide variety of products and services at a reduced price to all jurisdictions in the state. In addition, a portion of the cost is returned to the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police to assist with the goals and initiatives of the Association. Our examinations meet the testing criteria of the certification standards as outlined by the State of Georgia Law Enforcement Agency Certification Program and the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

Listed below are few of the products and services available:

READING ABILITY EXAM
Designed to screen out all candidates who are not able to read at the level required for successful performance.

ENTRY-LEVEL LAW ENFORCEMENT EXAM
A statistically validated test to identify individuals who possess the abilities required to be a successful law enforcement officer. This nation-wide exam thoroughly evaluates a number of knowledges, skills, and abilities common to entry-level positions.

CANDIDATE PROFILE SUMMARY FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
An instrument designed to assess the integrity, work ethic and service orientation of law enforcement candidates. The Georgia State Certification Committee has concluded that the CPS-LE is valid to meet Standard 3.3 for State Certification (psychological testing area).

OFF-THE-SHELF-KNOWLEDGE EXAM
Standardized promotional exams developed for the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Test questions are taken from the following sources:

For the ranks of Corporal and Sergeant:
Supervision of Police Personnel, Seventh Edition. Nathan F. Iannone, Marvin P. Iannone, and Jeff Bernstein, Pearson Education Prentice Hall.

For the ranks of Lieutenant and Captain:
Supervision of Police Personnel, Seventh Edition. Nathan F. Iannone, Marvin P. Iannone, and Jeff Bernstein, Pearson Education Prentice Hall.

Police Administration: An Introduction, Second Edition. Alfred R. Stone and Stuart M. Deluca, Prentice Hall.
In addition to the prescribed texts, the following can be used for a limited number of questions:

Broken Windows, The Atlantic Monthly,James Q. Wilson and George L. Kelling. Article based on community policing principles.
NON-CUSTOMIZED PROMOTIONAL EXAM
Promotional exam developed from multiple texts as selected by the requesting agency from an extensive study list provided by Morris & McDaniel, Inc. Exams may be requested for the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Reference list is available upon request.
CUSTOMIZED PROMOTIONAL EXAM
Promotional exam developed for a specific agency. 20% of the test items are developed from agency specific resources, i.e., city ordinances and agency rules and regulations. The remaining test items are developed from multiple texts as selected by the requesting agency from an extensive study list provided by Morris & McDaniel, Inc. Exams may be requested for the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Reference list is available upon request.

MORMAC MANAGEMENT ASSESSMENT EXERCISE
An intense 3.5 hour in-basket exercise for supervisory ranks and upper level management, the MORMAC is an excellent and cost effective method for promotional decisions.

PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER TEST
An instrument that provides a precise measure of abilities for successful performance utilizing a validation checklist to ensure the test is a good match for your department. This test consists of Audio and Written components.
