Date: May 7, 2009
Please review the attached IACP-Scholarship information/application and consider applying if you meet the eligibility requirements listed below. The goal of the program, funded by Sig Sauer, is designed to allow a police chief from a smaller agency to attend the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference for the first time. The scholarship will allow the recipient to attend up to four days, which will be enough time to attend training sessions, exhibits, the Opening Session and Host Chief's Night, as well as network with fellow professionals.
The scholarship will provide transportation, up to four (4) nights hotel stay, and conference registration. Transportation will be at the coach rate (if flying) or at the federal allowance for mileage. Any and all additional costs are at the expense of the recipient. Two applicants from each of the four State Association of Chiefs of Police (SACOP) Regions will be selected, for a total of eight award winners.
Please fill out all of the required information, attach a resume and email me the completed documents by JUNE 1st, 2009. GACP will review and select one application to forward to IACP for consideration.
