Chief's Day at the Capitol
Tuesday, March 16, 2010, has been declared “Police Chiefs/Heads of Law Enforcement Agencies Day” at the Georgia State Capitol. There will be a general assembly meeting coupled with a very short Executive Board meeting at the following location:
Georgia Department of Agriculture
19 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW
Room 201
Atlanta, Georgia 30304
The Georgia Department of Agriculture is located directly across the street from the Capitol. This assembly and meeting will start at 9:00 AM sharp. At this meeting, I will provide a short overview about how to identify both Senators and Representatives. Additionally, attendees will be provided with a training session titled “The State’s Legislative Process”.
I urge you to visit with your Representatives and Senators immediately after we break from our assembly. If you wish to have lunch together with other police chiefs, please meet me in the cafeteria located in the Twin Towers at 11:45 AM. At 1:00 PM, we will meet back at the Capitol in the South Wing for photos and the reading of two Resolutions. The first Resolution will be read by Representative Burke Day designating “Police Chiefs/Heads of Law Enforcement Agencies Day” at the Capitol and Representative Katie Dempsey will read a Resolution honoring GACP‘s 2009 Chief of the Year, Hubert Smith of Rome Police Department.
Three hours of executive level training will be granted for all attendees. If you have any questions, feel free to call our office at 770-495-9650.
Please show support to GACP by being there on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 and if possible, wear your uniform.
Sincerely,
Frank Vincent Rotondo
GACP Executive Director
