Chief's Day at the Capitol
Tuesday, February 28, 2012, has been declared “Police Chiefs/Heads of Law Enforcement Agencies Day” at the Georgia State Capitol. There will be a general assembly meeting coupled with a very short Executive Board meeting at the following location:
State Board of Pardons and Paroles
The Hearing Room
2 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, SE
5th Floor, East Tower
Atlanta, Georgia 30334-4909
This assembly and meeting will start at 9:00 AM sharp. At this meeting, I will provide a short overview about how to identify both Senators and Representatives. Additionally, attendees will be provided with a training session titled “The State’s Legislative Process.”
I urge you to visit with your Representatives and Senators immediately after we break from our assembly. Then at 11:25 AM, we will meet in the Rotunda, North staircase, inside the Capitol for photos and the reading of two proclamations. One Resolution will be read by Senator Johnny Grant designating “Police Chiefs/Heads of Law Enforcement Agencies Day” at the Capitol and the second Resolution will be read by Representative Mark Hatfield honoring GACP‘s 2011 Chief of the Year, Waycross Police Chief Tony Tanner.
Three hours of executive level training will be granted for all attendees. After the reading of the proclamations and photos at the Capitol, we will return to the Twin Towers (Floyd Building) for lunch. If you have any questions, feel free to call our office at 770-495-9650.
Please show support to GACP by being there on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, and if possible, wear your uniform.
Sincerely,
Frank Vincent Rotondo
Executive Director
